Compliance Podcasts for Your Next Travel Day

Written by Bethany Sirven | Oct 21, 2018 5:56:21 PM

It's conference season, which means great speeches, meeting new and old friends, plenty of networking opportunities and lots of travel.

This weekend MCO staffers are exhibiting at SCCE's Compliance and Ethics Institute in Las Vegas, a long haul from our offices in New York. Next week it's Atlanta for the NSCP National Conference. How do we keep busy on flights and stay in-the-know? Podcasts.

We're not alone. In 2017, Edison Research found that 42 million Americans listen to podcasts on a weekly basis, at an average rate of five per week

If you don't already have some go-tos, we've listed a few of ours to get you started.

1) Compliance Perspectives by SCCE

Featuring Compliance and Ethics thought leaders from around the globe, the SCCE podcast covers enforcement trends, current events, and best practices in the compliance and ethics arena.

2) FINRA Unscripted by FINRA

FINRA Unscripted is the voice of the nation’s largest non-government securities regulator. FINRA leaders discuss existing and emerging regulatory topics that impact the broker-dealer industry and share best practices for compliance officers.

3) SIFMA by SIFMA

SIFMA is the voice of the nation’s securities industry, bringing together the shared interests of hundreds of broker-dealers, banks and asset managers. We attend the SIFMA Compliance & Legal Conference in March but like to stay connected all year round by following this podcast.

4) NSCP Currents by National Society of Compliance Professionals

This podcast series features a reading from one of the articles from NSCP's monthly "Currents" newsletter. We're looking forward to seeing a lot of other listeners at the NSCP National Conference next week.

5) Corruption Crime & Compliance, Michael Volkov

Michael Volkov, CEO of Volkov Law Group tackles the current and hot topics in the legal realms of corruption, crime, and compliance. We've had the opportunity to co-present on a couple of Webinars with Michael. Most recently, we hosted a March Webinar on Advanced Strategies for Mitigating Bribery and Corruption Risks. You can now watch on-demand.

6) FCPA Compliance by Tom Fox

Seasoned law professional Tom Fox discusses the latest in anti-corruption and anti-bribery compliance and international transaction issues.

Check out the MCO Anti-Bribery and Corruption page for more resources around this topic.

7) The Risk Management Association by Risk Management Association

Another one of our popular and repeat Webinar presenters, Linda Tuck Chapman is a member of the Steering Committee and facilitator for the RMA’s Third Party Risk Management Roundtable, and co-presents training to U.S. Community Banks with leaders from the RMA. When we found out RMA had a podcast, we became a frequent listener. Linda allowed us to share an excerpt from her book published by The RMA, Third-Party Risk Management: Driving Enterprise Value on the MCO blog, view the post here.
