NEW YORK — MCO (MyComplianceOffice), a leading provider of integrated compliance technology, today released new research conducted by The Harris Poll among 370 senior compliance professionals across the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Research conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of MCO finds compliance investment is rising as technology complexity limits risk visibility.

The survey examines the priorities, pressures, and technology trends shaping financial services compliance and how leaders expect them to change over the next 12 months. It provides a benchmark for firms assessing whether their compliance operating models can support growing demands and a more strategic role in the business.

Key findings show that firms are managing fragmented technology environments, with organizations using an average of 13.8 compliance systems. Compliance investment is expected to rise, with 93% anticipating budget increases and 89% anticipating greater investment in compliance technology.

The research also identifies a gap in digital asset readiness: 96% say managing digital asset compliance is important, yet only 64% have a formal process for employee personal trading in digital assets.

The full report examines how leaders expect the CCO role to evolve, how firms are approaching AI, and where they plan to direct additional resources.

“Firms are not short on ambition or investment,” said Paul Giardina, Chief Marketing Officer at MCO. “The priority now is ensuring that capabilities connect across the compliance program so leaders can see risk clearly, act on reliable information and support the business more strategically.

“MyComplianceOffice helps firms do that by bringing compliance processes, data and evidence together across employees, transactions and third parties, reducing the need to manage compliance across multiple systems. MCO’s single-platform approach helps compliance teams operate more efficiently, strengthen risk visibility and oversight, and demonstrate compliance across the firm.”

    Survey Methodology

This research was conducted online by The Harris Poll on behalf of MyComplianceOffice (MCO) among 370 compliance professionals in three markets: the U.S., Europe (U.K., Germany, and Switzerland), and APAC (Australia and Singapore). Participants were aged 21+, employed full-time within the governance, risk, and compliance departments of financial services companies with at least 500 employees, and had at least a director title and some level of input in compliance-related decisions. Data are weighted to reflect company size (based on number of employees) in line with their actual proportions within each of the three markets.

Respondents are selected among those who have agreed to participate in our surveys. The sampling precision of Harris online polls is measured by using a Bayesian credible interval. The data is accurate to within + 5.1 percentage points using a 95% confidence level. This credible interval will be wider among subsets of the surveyed population of interest.

All sample surveys and polls, whether or not they use probability sampling, are subject to other multiple sources of error which are most often not possible to quantify or estimate, including, but not limited to coverage error, error associated with nonresponse, error associated with question wording and response options, and post-survey weighting and adjustments.
