August 17th 2011: Compliance Management Promotes Ethical Behaviour

    

The original purpose of compliance programs was to ensure government requirements were met, however in more recent times compliance management has moved more to creating an ethical culture within the corporate environment. As technology has rapidly changed and business complexity grows compliance management processes have become less effective and therefore a new approach has been sought.

The annual Ethics & Compliance Leadership Survey conducted by Los Angeles based LRN surveyed more than 100 firms with over 7,500 employees and $1 billion in revenue. It indicated that nearly 60% of compliance management leaders believe the primary goal is to promote ethical behaviour.
